Jesse Bowen

Jesse Bowen left her 10-year career in counseling to join the volunteer management field nine months ago. She had been living and working in rural and remote communities for the past eight years, where programs are developed and services delivered through creative collaboration to meet local needs. Her areas of experience include working with addictions, FASD, perpetrators of spousal assault, victims of various forms of abuse, and First Nations residential school trauma.

Jesse has been an active volunteer herself for most of her life including everything from grassroots to event organizer to board chair. She is currently employed as the Volunteer Resources and Grief Support Programs Coordinator for the Prince George Hospice Society in central British Columbia, Canada (http://www.hospiceprincegeorge.ca/). Jesse’s interest in supporting volunteers through difficult times stems from both her professional career and her personal philosophy.
